Mileage Club

Mileage Club provides an exciting opportunity for students to run or walk for fitness on Tuesday or Friday mornings. On your assigned day, please bring your student(s) to the Evergreen blacktop by 8:40am. You may drop your child off, stay to cheer the kids on, or help volunteer. At 9:00am, laps are recorded and students are escorted to the building. Parent volunteers and PE teachers will be there to help and supervise the children.

Fall Dates: Tuesday, September 19 – Tuesday, November 14 (No School/Mileage Club on Tuesday, November 7th) Spring Dates: Tuesday, March 13 – Friday, May 11

Running days: Tuesday mornings – Students with last name A-K Friday mornings – Students with last name L-Z

Book bag tokens are awarded for each mile a child completes. At the end of the season, awards are given to top runners in each grade. All students who complete a half marathon or full marathon will also receive a special award. *NEW THIS YEAR…chances for your child to receive “extra credit” to not only make up for missed days, but also to help encourage exercise more than just once a week in Mileage Club!

Appropriate behavior is expected from all Mileage Club participants; they must exhibit Chesterfield County Public Schools’ Core Values of respect, responsibility, accountability, and honesty.

We will have access to minimal first aid supplies, as the school nurse is not on the premises before school hours. We will not have access to medication, inhalers, epi pens, etc. Please be aware that if your child is ill or injured, we will contact you to collect them immediately. Evergreen Elementary staff and volunteers are not liable for any injuries during Mileage Club.

Students should wear sneakers and dress appropriately for the weather. An email will be sent to all families and a message posted on the PTA’s Facebook page in the morning if Mileage Club is cancelled due to inclement weather.

Due to limited space on the running track, Mileage Club enrollment is limited to the first 300 students who turn in the below form to their teachers. Parents are asked to fill it out completely.

Please contact Jen Yates at with any questions.
